I composed this duet in January 1999 at the Astrid Lindgren Children’s Hospital in Stockholm, Sweden. The composition was inspired by the arrival of light and colors after a long and weary winter and is dedicated to my wife Anne. The music is composed in a way that allows both players the freedom to improvise together as a duo as well as individually during the work.

Spring Colors had its world premiere in October 1999 when performed by Rolf Landberg and Daniel Saur, at a duo recital at the University of Kentucky, Lexington, KY, USA.
