Moon Chasers for Solo Marimba and Percussion Ensemble is based on Ford’s original marimba solo with the same name.  Written for his wife, Ewelina, Moon Chasers is the story of two people in love who are unable to be together.  So the moon connects them like a bridge across the ocean.  The music is a cinema-scope journey of three themes that follow an unexpected path.

The percussion ensemble version of Moon Chasers was arranged by Mark Ford.   It was commissioned and premiered by the Lebanon Trail High School Percussion Ensemble under the direction of Benji Baker on April 26, 2023.  This video is the recording of the premiere.

The Moon Chasers percussion ensemble arrangement is written for 9 percussionists, the soloist, a piano part, and an optional harp part.
